DRILL 1: 5 Ball Shooting
Team Drill
•
Time limits: 3 minutes
•
Define the drill: 3 players weave down the court with 3 shots at the one end of the court and 3 players
weave back with 3 shots at this end while players are rotating in.
•
Rules: No traveling and pass with appropriate hand.
•
Level of drill: High School
•
Frequency, percentage: Make 65 shots in 3 minutes
•
Contingency: If they don’t make 65, then the team has a down and back for each missed shot. Ex: 61,
you would run 4. If they make it, they do not have to run.
•
Monitor method: As a coach I would count the makes and monitor time.
•
Feedback frequency: Keeping a positive attitude and encouraging the team with “good pass”, “good
hustle”.
I would say it when people are getting down on themselves and think they cannot reach the
goal.
•
Integrates coaching standards: I am setting goals for them to achieve success!
Drill 2: Milken
Partner Drill
•
Time Limits: 1 minute on, 1 minute off as your partner goes.
•
Define the drill: layup after layup under the basket back and forth from one side to the other.
