Morgan Allen Dr. Sonheim Composition 1 September 29, 20120 The Field A soccer field is one hundred and twenty yards, of grass,filled with holes, hills, or freshly cut. Fans sitting in bleachers, or standing on the sidelines, referees with whistles in hands, ready to make the call, coaches screaming, parents yelling,these are the familiar sounds of the field. The first touch of the ball against my foot, the first time stepping onto that field. Five years old, that is when I knew that a soccer field is where I wanted to be. The field was easily only 30 yards by 10 yards, but at five it looked massive. We would run around chasing after the ball with no real order, and would even kick the ball to the wrong team, but the parents would cheer as if we had just won the olympics. I ran past defenders, and the goalie, and kicked the ball into the goal. I did not get a gold medal, but I did get good snacks afterward. As the snacks got smaller, and defenders bigger, so did the field, it no longer looked big, it looked ginormous. We were no longer a recreation team, but a club team. We stepped out on
