Executive Summary This report tells of the emergency facilities as well as the members of the emergency relief groups within Fayette County. The types of emergencies that threaten this county are listed. Also the emergency management director for the county’s role is presented. The volunteer organizations that work in conjunction with FEMA are listed as well as a brief synopsis of their directives. An overview of Fayette County’s past disasters is also presented.

Introduction: Introduction: This report is being written to inform the audience of the disaster relief facilities in Fayette County, Alabama. Fayette is a county much like the rest of Alabama that endures many of the same weather disasters. Tornados, being the most prevalent, cause the most substantial portion of damage from weather disasters. An organization named FEMA is the main organizing agent in the relief of this and other types of disasters. FEMA works with local groups to work out the problems that plague citizens after this kind of tragedy. This organization gives out the supplies needed when the county cannot support its needs. Fayette County, itself, converts their local schools into shelter for those out of homes. Fayette County combined with FEMA share the responsibility for maintaining the county when tragedy strikes.
