Na+ channels are big enough to allow hydrated Na+ to pass through, but not the significantly larger hydrated K+. Li+ is even smaller than Na+, so it can go through Na+ channel without a problem. b) Describe how Li+ is unlikely to go through a channel specific for K+ transport. The K+ channel has a narrow passage too small for either hydrated Na+, Li + or K+ to go through.
