Surname 1 Name Professor Class Date Social Dilemma Film Premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, "Social Dilemma Film" might be the single most terrifying analysis of social media at any point made for mass utilization. Jeff Orlowski's film expounds on how online media has become a threat in the 21st century due to technological advancement. The film looks into how the Internet's most famous products work on an essential business model of tracking users' conduct to sell ads and incite addiction in a vicious circle. The film has stirred fear in the more significant part of the web-based media users, making them erase the applications. However, the film misses the mark concerning giving a straightforward solution. Throughout the documentary, a story is being told of a family of five with different views on the usage of technology. There's a mom, dad, two daughters, and a son named Ben. The mom and oldest daughter are against the constant use of technology, especially cell phone usage. The youngest daughter continuously uses her phone to where she can't make it through dinner without wanting to check it. However, the directors use Ben's character to show the reality of how people are being manipulated and affected. As he goes through these changes, the speakers and the former representatives describe what goes on during each phase he encounters. They also explain in detail how he's being manipulated by "the people behind the screen."
Surname 2 The 93-minute film starts with a progression of unfavorable articulations. A range of technology experts brings about the other side of online media and how a tool that was intended to connect users has, step by step, become a revile much the same as an existential threat. The interviewees incorporate previous Google, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and other web giants who talk about the beast they made. Based on the film, technology and social media are starting to impact the lives of those that use them. It is explained that there are people controlling what others see on social media based on what those other people like and their interests.
