LBST 2102 Study Guide For Midterm Exam The main recommendation is simply to review the readings, and particularly the introduction to Hinduism in the textbook; also, there may be a few questions from the website assignment readings. Also, be familiar enough with the main concepts that we have discussed in class so that you can identify how these concepts operate from any quotes from the original texts that I might include in the exam. In other words, I will include a few quotes from some of the original texts— maybe some we’ve read through in class, maybe not. It will be up to you to determine the main idea or ideas being expressed in the quote. The exam will be all multiple-choice questions. Hinduism Section: Key historical concepts: importance of fire for the Aryans, and the growing importance of the Vedic sacrifice, and the Vedas themselves. How did the focus of the sacrifice begin to change? What “new” questions and concerns arose over time?
