Final Exam Study Guide Review the textbook material on Confucianism, and especially class notes on the ideas of Confucius and those influenced by him. Also, be sure to review the relevant assignment on Moodle. At least skim through the text readings for Confucianism, especially the Analects. Also, know about Mencius’s belief about human nature, and his illustration of his thoughts as represented by the Ox Mountain Allegory. How did Xunzi disagree with Mencius, and what was Xunzi’s argument? What kinds of governments would be the logical results of the beliefs of these two? There will be a few text readings, which I will ask you to find the essential meaning for, so this just requires your knowing the main principles of the traditions we’ve studied. Be sure you know the principles of: li, de, ren, junzi, filial piety, and how they relate to each other in Confucius’s ethical theories. This was discussed in class.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
