Mason Gregory Music 2730 Vinson 4 December 2007 Music Report 2 I chose to attend The Sounds of Auburn for my other concert because it seemed like it would be a pretty generic musical event. It took place in the Coliseum on October 25, 2007 at 7:30pm. It featured the marching band, concert choir, steel band, symphonic band, gospel choir, and university singers. The first pieces of the show were the marching band’s famous “Pre-Game Entrance and Fanfare” and “War Eagle.” Ward Miller and Robert Allen arranged the first two pieces. The marching band was a great introduction to the rest of the performance. The next part of the concert came from the marching band and the concert choir. They played “God Bless America” by Irvin Berlin, an American composer and lyricist. He died in 1989, and composed over 3,000 songs during his career. The instruments really come together in this song. Next the concert choir sang two different pieces of music.
