John Stracquatanio St. Anthony Abbott Standing before me behind the alarm-equipped glass is what the artist depicts as St. Anthony Abbott. A fifteen inch high limewood sculpture that appears to have its wears and tears shows an older looking man, clothed in a robe and holding a book horizontally in front of him with his left hand. He has a solemn expression across his face, and long, curly beard, and his head is slightly tilted to the right. He is standing with his left foot forward as if he was walking towards you. There is what I take to be a calf under his leg like he just stepped over it. His right hand is in a loose fist as if he was holding a staff of some sorts, but the staff is no longer attached to the sculpture. From all the details that I have gathered of this artwork, it is apparent that he is a man of the church looking to spread his beliefs to you, the audience because of his appearance and the motion of the sculpture. It is with unreasonable doubt that his appearance provides conclusive evidence
