Royer 1Greg RoyerWith Fasces Comes Unity and ProsperityThere are a number of different countries in our world, all in which obtain to different codas. Some are governed by a parliament, commanded through a dictatorship, well overlooked by a democracy or a republic, persuaded by a god through theocracy, ruled by a king through a monarchy, or even directed by a single party of individuals through totalitarianism.Since the human race has been in existence we have seen several forms of governments, in which many fail. Some countries are still having difficulties governing their land, which leads to the bitterness of anarchy. There will always be a conflict in government, but what if there was a place where everything was perfect? In Sir Thomas More’s Utopia we are introduced to a land that is far more than comfortable.A utopia is an imagined place or state of things in which everything is superlative, carrying political or social perfection.Sir Thomas More’s character Hythloday describes his time he spent amongst the Utopians and argues their way of life to More.He describes the Utopians views on common property, war, religion, agriculture, government, education, and occupations.More criticizes the Utopians fictional world and Hythloday’s experience.More categorizes the problems of the real world in contrast to the Utopians. However, it is time for a new state of perfection to rise.A place where religious order is prevalent, education is superlative, and military is neither viscous nor impressible. The name of this superior state is Fasces, a Latin word that symbolizes power and unity.Fasces consisted of a bundle of white birch rods; they were tied together with a red ribbon made of leather, including a bronze axe amongst the rods.It was seen as a symbol of the Roman Republic, similar
Royer 2to the way a flag is carried in the honor of a nation. The state will be ruled under a republic. One representative, or chief, will be elected by Fasces’ people, and they will govern Fasces and its entirety, leading them to flourish.Fasces people take pride in their religious demeanor.Religion is not just a right, but it is essential to the Fasces community.Spiritual activity is healthy and this is why all Fasces people will have a spiritual life.Like religion, education and philosophy is considered to be the foundation of the state of Fasces. It is prevalent that all Fasces people receive a superior education and a concept of philosophy.Receiving an education in Fasces is not an option nor a right, but a demand.Unlike education, the Fascians have an option to participate in their military. The Fascian military is a voluntary organization that strives to insure that the state remains protected at all costs.
