Exploration of Self Worksheet 1.1: My Strengths Throughout my life I have developed and shown strengths in many areas. I think my biggest strength would have to be leadership. I have shown my ability to lead mostly in sports, but also in the workplace. This is recognized by others and has gotten me the role of team captain many times, and has also had me put in charge of small groups at work. I do not always lead by being loud and controlling, but by being a good example to follow. Along with being a leader, I can also take and follow directions from others which is very important in the workplace. Another one of my major strengths is communication, which I have developed over many years of playing sports. It is very important to be a good communicator, because no matter what you get into in business you will need to communicate well with others to be successful. Worksheet 1.2: My Interests There are a number of things that I enjoy doing in my life. Besides the obvious playing sports and being active I enjoy a number of other things such as helping others. I get satisfaction over helping others and seeing the enjoyment when they succeed. I also enjoy solving problems and puzzles and having to use my brain to think things out. I like the challenge working to solve it. One of the biggest things that I enjoy is accomplishing my goals. I love the feeling you get when you set a goal and work hard to accomplish it. It makes you feel good when your hard work pays off. Zach Frank Career Planning Project 2

Worksheet 1.3: My Abilities I have learned and developed a variety of abilities through experience in my life. I am a good listener and because of this I am able to take directions from someone and perform tasks efficiently which is needed in the workplace. It is also important to be able to communicate and work well with others which I have shown success at doing. I have a number of other abilities such as staying on task working hard. I hope that these qualities can all help me get a job that I like and can have a successful career in. Worksheet 1.4: My Values I have a number of different values and the most important is definitely God. I live my life taking the opportunity that I was given to thank God and live it to the fullest. I am also very close to my family. They are always there for me and I wouldn’t be were I am today if it wasn’t for them. As for the workplace, my values include having fun and enjoying my job over money. I want to get into a job that I enjoy doing and not for the money. I don’t want a job that I hate going to even if the money is great. I would much rather like going to work and enjoy my life, than be rich and miserable.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
