3 LAB POLICIES 1. ATTENDANCE POLICY (Virtual or F2F) All students are required to attend each lab on time and stay for the entire lab or until dismissed. Attendance will be taken at the beginning and end of each lab session; late attendance will not be tolerated. Students leaving before permission to leave has been granted by the instructor, & will receive a zero for that lab. Lab switching is not allowed, attend the lab that you are registered for. Absence from the lab without a university excuse will result in a zero. Late attendance is not acceptable and it will be treated as an unexcused absence. University excused absences have 1 week to make up the lab and require proper documentation Late lab reports will not be accepted and will be considered a zero. There will be a lab practical. 2. GENERAL CONDUCT (F2F) present in the lab: Wear safety glasses at all times. Students not possessing or wearing safety gear will be asked to leave. Be situationally aware of hazards, watchful of oils, trip hazards, and obstructions. ID location of first aid kits. PROPER SAFETY ATTIRE REQUIRED, closed toed shoes (boots preferred) No shorts, dresses, or cutoffs, Inappropriate and unprofessional behavior will not be tolerated. No , food, drinks, or tobacco in the labs. Always ask the instructor to help if you are unsure of how to operate the equipment. All students are required to thoroughly clean up their work area and lab at the end of each session. ONLINE: Students are responsible to insure connectivity and technology is up to date. Active participation is required, students must be prepared for lab, remain online for the entire duration of the time period or until dismissed 3. HYDRAULIC LAB SAFETY CHECKLIST Check the following once a circuit has been connected and before the electric motor has been turned on. Oil level in the reservoir is at the correct level. All caps, joints and plugs are tight. Hoses are connected to the correct ports of components and are locked with their respected ports.
