Humanities I Wes Kennison Contact: [email protected] or 245-8610 Office: Welles (Go to the English Department secretary’s office) Classroom : Newton 212 Online Writing Guide: http://writingguide.geneseo.edu Office Hours: Milne Library 9:25 to 9:55 Mondays and Wednesdays Course Objective Some courses you take to get a job. This course you take to get a life. This is an interdisciplinary course in literature, history, and philosophy (although you will see other methodologies as well). Our goal is to help you develop skills of critical thinking, writing and speaking while exploring some of the greatest intellectual achievements of the early centuries of the Western Tradition. Some of the ideas you encounter will be strange and new. Others will seem strangely familiar. As your teacher, I will challenge you to take the next big steps in your own intellectual development. Our objective is clear. I want this to be the best course you take in college.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
