be seen as dreams (illusory).
Ignorance = lack of understanding
that one’s mind is Buddha. Waking
up from dreams reveals them to be
“empty”—which matches teaching of
Great Vehicle (Mahayana). Birth,
death, dreams: all are, fundamentally,
empty phenomena (“elements”). “ ‘Because of false thoughts,
therefore sinking in birth and death;
because of knowing reality, therefore
realizing bodhi [i.e., wisdom].’ This
