Morris Salerno English 1301 10/22/07 Student Led Prayer in Public Schools Student led prayer in public schools is a very controversial subject and has been for a few years. There are no official rules or laws for or against this conflict, but there are many people with very strong views for both sides. This essay will help anyone understand both sides of this issue. There are many people for open prayer in public schools for many different reasons. A big reason some people are for school prayer is because some religions need prayer during the school hours. There are a few religions that need prayer every three or four hours, so the students in those religions must pray during school. Those students who must pray may not pray if they are the only people praying. They could be scared to be discriminated against. A way to solve this problem is to have mandatory student led prayer.
