DIETARY ANALYSIS 2 Dietary Analysis Dietary analysis refers to an activity that allows an individual to evaluate the quantity, patterns, and quality of food he or she takes. The exercise focuses on the total energy in the form of calories, diversity, and a specific amount of nutrients. The analysis is significant as it helps understand the type and amount of micro and macronutrients taken by an individual meant to evaluate the vulnerability to particular deficiencies, excesses, or diseases associated with nutrition. Identification of anomalies provides an opportunity to make timely interventions to promote dietary intake. Based on my assessment results and my goal, I am facing a nutritional challenge that is likely to cause severe health problems in the future. Out of the assessed 17 elements, I only met the nutritional target for three elements (saturated, polyunsaturated, and trans), with deficiencies in the rest. I am more worried about the deficiency of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, calcium, and iron. This is a call for me to add more Vitamin C sources to my diet, and this can be obtained from fruits, green and red peppers, sweet and white potatoes, green leafy vegetables (cabbage, spinach, turnip green, etc.). I also need more carrots, squash, cantaloupe, and broccoli to boost
