Iran Vs. America Change is one of the things that can strengthen the present. Looking back it is easy to realize how different life is over time and in between different cultures. Appearances, education, and traditions are very important to people around the world. Despite some striking similarities between Iranians and Americans, the clothing, education, and family traditions of Iran twenty five years ago is much different than the culture in the United States today. Like in the US today, Iranian women twenty five years ago liked to be stylish. However, there is an Islamic dress code in Iran that is the opposite of how Americans tend to dress. In the 80’s, Iranians tended to wear very bohemian styles, as that was what was considered nice and fitting of the dress code. Today in the US, the bohemian style has been making a come back. Style is said to be a revolution; “styles like that are inevitable to come back into style at some point” (Mandana Khojasteh). For example, Iranian women wore a munto, or a long jacket. Today similar jackets can cost up to $500 at stores like Saks and Neiman Marcus. Unfortunately, Iranians dressed much more conservatively because of “political oppression” (Khojasteh).

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
