Statically Indeterminate Axial Problems Statically Indeterminate Axial Problems ► ► ► ► Recall that a statically indeterminate problem is one that cannot be solved through statics alone. A statically indeterminate problem requires additional information that can be turned into additional equations to solve for the unknowns. This additional information is often found using compatibility equations which are based on the deformations of the object. Compatibility conditions specify the displacement constraints that occur at the supports or other points on a member.
