At times I will reference some basic calculus but your knowledge of calculus need not be strong for this course. I expect you to be able to solve simple equations and understand what they mean graphically (e.g., aX + bY = c represents a straight line that intercepts the Y - axis at Y = c/b, etc.) I will also expect that you can evaluate written arguments by deducing which statements follow logically from other statements and which do not (e.g., if we agree that “A” implies “B”, then it must be the case that “not B” implies “not A”, but not vice versa.
