Your comfort level will depend in part on your tolerance for quantitative reasoning and your tolerance for working with computers. I will make extensive use of spreadsheets in this course, and I expect that each of you is familiar with at least one major spreadsheet program. I will reference Microsoft Excel, but you may use any spreadsheet program that has the same functionality as Excel. For the statistics and regression portion of the course you may also use a statistics package such as STATA, MATLAB, or GAUSS.
