Zain Jeddy 02-05-08 Case Analysis #3 Free Citizen vs. Loyal Employee Mary Davis was forced with the decision to either not comment publicly about malt liquors or resign from her job as vice-president of Whitewater Brewing Company. Although Davis had the right as a citizen to express her views on what was right, she should have a sense of loyalty to be compelled to not say anything. It is clear that the views of Jenkins and Whitewater Brewing Co. are that of egoism, but many other questions arise concerning whether Davis is right or wrong for speaking her mind. Davis must first realize that she is the vice-president to an alcohol company, something that may be morally wrong already considering all the bad things alcohol does to people especially in this country. Secondly, these “skid-row winos” aren’t going to stop drinking if the production of 40 oz malt liquors comes to a sudden halt. The people who love to drink 40 oz’s will continue to drink because alcohol will always be legal in
