They have been targeted to moms and kids for years with diferent ads for each. Like Kix, the kids' ads focused on taste and the mom ads focused on the cereal being good for the kids. Today, they have added the segment of adults concerned about heart health. I'm not sure what had been going on with Cheerios sales prior to the positioning as heart healthy, but if sales growth had slowed or reversed, the heart healthy positioning could be viewed as restarting the Cheerios life cycle -- or at least extending it with renewed sales 26 of 30 5/22/13 10:13 AM Collection http://post.blackboard.com/webapps/discussionboard/do/messa... growth.
