Talking With a Biologist: Dr. Mark Frye - Studies obesity and weight loss - Expanding research to areas of genomics and evolutionary functions of obesity - Thrifty Gene Hypothesis: People have advantage of being able to store more fat than others even with the same nutritional diet Cell Cycle - Recall the 5 phases and what happens in each - Recall Binary Fission in prokarytoic cells (only have a single strand of DNA Eukorytoic Cell Cycle: Regulation - Frequency of cell division varies with type of cell (ex. cheek cells rapidly regenerate but neural cells take longer ) - Cell cycle frequency differences result from regulation at the molecular level - Cell cycle appears to be driven by specific chemical signals present in the cytoplasm - Sequential events of the cell cycle are directed by a distinct cell cycle control system, similar to a CLOCK - Cell cycle control system is regulated both by internal and external signals

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
