Justice In this paper, I will give my thoughts on some of the arguments that were given in the republic and Socrates argument in response. Socrates gets into an argument regarding what justice is with Polermarchus, Cephalus, and Thrasymachus. It starts when Polermarchus invites Glaucon, Adeimantus, Thrasymachus, and Socrates to go to Cephalus home. The argument starts when Socrates gets into a debate over what is the meaning of justice? With Polermarchus, Cephalus, and Thrasymachus. Cephalus starts the argument by saying that he is unable to live a righteous life because of his wealth, that is when Socrates challenges him by saying that simply avoiding a urge to lie, returning what you owe or following the law does not makes someone a just person. He further defends his argument by giving an example that what if you give a weapon back to a person who is been acting crazy, because most likely this will lead to a negative consequence and it would not be a just thing to do.
