Telehealth Medicine in a Rural Community Shahzaib Raza MMHA-6600 Walden University December 27, 2020
Telehealth Medicine in a Rural Community Telehealth medicine is up and coming in the new age. Many different organizations have been implementing telehealth medicine due to its convenience in care and efficient in time consumed.Canon hospital is a medical organization based in rural Texas. The hospital only has 189 beds and is approximately 100 and 150 miles away from two major medical centers of excellence in Texas. While telehealth medicine may be the next great way to see a patient,it also has its own set of issues that need to be addressed . The Problem The biggest problem for Canon Hospital is that it is 100 and 150 miles away from two major medical centers of excellence in Texas. This puts residents of the rural community highly reliant on the resources that Canon Hospital has. If Canon Hospital does not have the appropriate supplies or resources, residents may be looking at a risky travels or improper hospital care. Another big problem is the need for upkeeping for intensive care unit patients. It works with more than 180 hospitals in 20 states and provided access to care for 1. 6 million high-acuity patients in some of the hardest-to-serve healthcare environments (Dyrda,2020).These patients need daily upkeeping, but Canon Hospital simply does not have enough space or beds to operate an efficient upkeeping service.
