Your paper should be two-pages double spaced. 1. How does concentration in ownership impact the music industry? Concentration of ownership, impacts the music industry much like it impacts other industries (i.e. film). The five companies that basically control the music industry are BMG (German); Sony (Japanese); AOL-Time Warner (U.S.); Vivendi (French); and a smaller company called EMI. As these companies merge with other companies and become bigger and bigger, their control over the music industry becomes greater and greater. Smaller labels get forced into signing with larger labels to prevent going out of business and this causes most music to be the same.
