Chinmaya 1 Nikhil Chinmaya 6 March 2008 Professor Hornberger English 110 Fred Davis begins by talking about the significance of blue jeans throughout history and how I has changed and shaped Western culture in the last seven hundred years, and how it continues to change Western, and the greater world society as an expression of leisure, bringing ease, comfort, casualness, sociability and the outdoors. As implied by the title “Blue Jeans” Davis does a fine job of summarizing the impact of blue jeans since its acceptance into the American culture after the 1960’s. After it had been repeatedly rejected because of its association with degenerate groups of American society, until leading jeans manufacturers began producing advertisement campaigns to break this association with lower class America, and convince consumers that jeans were appropriate for many occasions. Blue jeans continued to change American culture as jeans manufacturers began expanding their market to new consumers as they began marketing their product to the Elite,
