How I think about Photosynthesis Solar energy is used to strip electrons from water. Those electrons go through the ‘ electron transport chain to arrive at carbon dioxide. When carbon dioxide is accepts those electrons, it is converted into a sugar. So…. Water is oxidized. Carbon dioxide is reduced. Oxygen is released (because water is split). This is called a REDOX reaction. Where does this happen???
