Spencer Battersby Chap. 5 CIS 275 1. Project scope management is the processes that control and define what is or what is not included in the project. There are five processes involved: scope planning, scope definition, creating the WBS, scope verification, and scope control. Good project scope management is important in information technology projects because it will help stakeholders now what will come from the project in terms of new computer systems and hardware and policies. 2. You start out by writing out what the goals of a project are and then go to and define what means the team will use to complete the project. You also put in more info about what the project entails and what it is going to accomplish. The WBS includes all the changes that may be occurring and updates to the statement and plan. 3. You can create a WBS first as a tree or as a chart. When you create it the chart way, you use main groupings to divide the work into categories. You can also organize the work by project phases. You can also make a WBS
