Political socialization- a Lifelong process by which people form their ideas about politics and acquire political values. Family, educational system, peer groups, mass media all play a role (news is bigger Social capital- An economic idea that refers to the connections between individuals and entities that can be economically valuble. Along with economic capital, social capital is a valuable mechanism in economic growth. Nonattitudes- claiming an opinion when u don’t really have one. Pack journalism- Journalism that is practiced by reporters in a group and that is marked by uniformity of news coverage and lack of original thought or intiative. “Adversarial yet dependent relationship”- a bitter, but needed co-dependent relationship (president & press). Embedded journalism- reporters stationed with a military unit (Iraq reporters). Proportional representation- A method of voting by which political parties are given legislative representation in proportion to their popular vote. Single-member plurality districts
