Molly Boyle AP Lang Mrs. Ollhoft-Barnes Life’s Little Lessons My team is lined up, shoulder to shoulder, in tiny box 19 that our Wauwatosa West team was assigned. We wait anxiously for the gun shot to be fired, and the race to begin. This whole situation is so new to me. It is just minutes before the race and I feel an overwhelming weakness in my knees, sweat is soaking my palms , and my heart is beating so fast as if it is going to burst out of my chest. Time is flying by. My mind does not feel mentally prepared enough to start but everything is happening so fast. The announcer begins the countdown, and I get in the ready position: knees slightly bent, one foot in front of the other, and my arms ready to begin pumping. My body shakes as I hear the man say 10, 9,8,7,6 and 5. He goes silent from 5-0, and all I do in those five seconds is pray that I am going to be able to succeed in this race. The gun fires off startling me, and I start the mission to finish my first cross country meet ever. I sprint out in front of all the teams to get ahead. Thinking back, I wish I never would have started

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
