Megan Turner Theatre Three Sisters Three Sisters An actors’ performance can make or break the success of a play, and having a good actor makes a great impression to the audience. Casey Dean, who played Irina in CU’s production of Three Sisters by Anton Chekhov, gave a very strong performance. I chose to write about her because of her profound impact on the development of the story and her successful portrayal of the evolution of a young and optimistic girl into a woman. Casey Dean who played Irina in Three Sisters delivered a strong performance because she had great spatial awareness, she used body language to develop her character in a believable way, and she had great use of the volume of her voice. Casey used her body language to develop the character of Irina in a way that was believable and relatable to the audience. Irina starts out as an innocent twenty-year old, with hopes and aspirations to travel to Moscow with her family and meet her true love.
