Data: Analysis/Conclusion: In the phylum Arthropoda, Wolbachia has infected about 20% of all the insect species. Some species infection rates are as high as 90% or more. In this lab, we collected a variety of insects including ants, bees, earwigs, ladybugs, flies, mosquitoes, and moths. Using the 20% statistic included in the lab writeup for the percentage of insects infected with Wolbachia, about 2 of the 11 insects that were analyzed should have been infected with Wolbachia.
