Upon walking past one of the secret service agents she recollects being certain that she was on her best behavior, in fear that she might do something to change the guards benevolence towards her. Hunt does not explicitly say this but it is evident in the way that she talks about people’s blind submission to Hitler. Throughout Hunt’s recollection of her childhood, you can see that it was easy for people to follow Hitler without knowing all of his terrible acts, While there were rumors, Hitler kept many things in the dark. If you don’t know about the wrong doings of the Nazi’s than you have no reason to question them. As time passed on the horrible acts that the Nazi’s performed would no longer be able to be swept under the rug Not everyone was able to turn a blind eye and follow Hitler.
