Hybrid Regimes  ­There are obvious dictatorships and obvious democracies in this world.  ­But increasingly we’ve seen ‘illiberal democracies,” “Competitive authoritarianism,” etc.  ­Dictatorships are becoming Hybrid. (maybe)  ­Diamond, many different hybrid regimes.  ­When doing research you always need to start with a measure of what you want to compare.  ­Any measure can have advantages/disadvantages.  ­Whenever you add different concepts to your definitions, your measure becomes messy!
