Jared Schlehuber March 24, 2008 2608720 Site Visit Paper After spending a time in a Jewish synagogue, I learned many things about Judaism. I visited The Congregation Rodef Shalom on 450 South Kerney Street in Denver, Colorado. The phone number to the location is (303) 399-0035. I observed the Shabbat on Thursday March, 20 from 10:15 until around 11:30. The Congregation Rodef Shalom is a conservative form of Judaism. The mission of this synagogue is to care for each member, serve the spiritual, educational, and social needs of each member, and promote the beliefs of conservative Judaism, according to Sandy Greene, the executive director. Sandy Greene can be reached at (303) 399-0035. Mrs. Greene explained how this sect of Judaism is similar to Christianity. Judaism worships to a God much like Christians do. In 1988, the leadership council of Conservative Judaism finally issued an official statement of belief, Emet Ve- Emunah: Statement of Principles of Conservative Judaism. This statement proves that conservative Jews have the same beliefs of rabbinic Jews. However, conservative Jews never developed any binding catechism. Since the beliefs of the two sects are similar, apart of a few aspects (like Emet Ve-Emunah), it is very difficult to decipher between the
