Communism is a system where the government holds all property and controls all businesses, theUnited States believed in democracy, where the people hold all the property and control their own wages, therefore there is competition in businesses. The United States wanted to spread democracy and the Soviets wanted to spread communism, therefore the U.S. and the Soviets entered into the Cold War, each attempting to spread their beliefs. The Soviets were prone to sweeping countries, taking them over and transforming them into communist. The Soviets began efforts to separate West Berlin from the West and concur them, the U.S. realized this was a threat
