Introduction – Experiment Design Title : Are Fish Introverted or Extroverted? Observational Basis of Study: Zebra fish and Platys are less social and are less likely to school Tetra fish are chosen as the control group because they are very social and have a high tendency to school Research Hypothesis: H R : If an individual test fish of a different species is introduced to an environment in which a school of tetra are schooling, then the test species will not spend 50% or more of its time within the schooling zone. H a : 2 experimental species will not show a tendency to school for at least 50% of the time. H o : All of the species of fish will show a tendency to school for 50% of the time. Predictions: If an individual test fish of a different species is introduced to an environment in which a school of tetra are schooling, then the test species will not spend 50% or more of its time within the schooling zone. The schooling tendencies of 2 different species of fish will not be compatible.
