Introduction: The lab was a basic introduction to transformers and the various effects that they have on voltage and current. Procedure: Part One: Voltage Ratios The LabVolt equipment was set up as shown in Figure 1. Each winding ratio was measured using the Fluke multimeter for their total resistance. The circuit was then powered on and the power supply increased to 120V. The voltages and currents were then recorded. The circuit was powered off. The same procedure was repeated for all remaining winding ratios. Part Two: Current Ratio The equipment was set up as shown in Figure 2. The voltage was VERY CAREFULLY increased until I2 was reading around .4A. E1, I1, and I2 were then recorded. The current ratio corresponded to the turn ratio which was 1:1.
