Purpose of experiment: The purpose of this experiment is to observe the operation of a common source MOSFET circuit. Model numbers of equipment used Hewlett-Packard HPE3631A Power Supply Hewlett-Packard HP34401A Multimeter Fluke 8010A Multimeter (x2) Jameco JE24 Breadboard Block Diagram Circuit schematic Test Procedure The circuit was constructed and connected as shown above in the schematic and block diagram. The 6V power supply (V GG ) was initially set to 0V, with the 25V power supply (V DD ) kept at a voltage sufficient to generate 5V on the multimeter measuring V DS . V GG was increased slowly until the current measured by the HP multimeter increased significantly. The voltage on the V GG (the threshold voltage) was recorded, as was the current (I D ). V DS was then decremented to 4V, 3V, 2.5V, 2V, 1.5V, 1V, and .5V and I D at each recorded. V
