Hepatitis C is the most common chronic bloodborne infection. The CDC estimates that almost four million Americans are infected with HCV, whereas less than one million are infected with HIV. Eighty percent of people infected with HCV are asymptomatic, but symptoms can include jaundice, fatigue, dark urine, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, and nausea.
