Purpose of experiment: Measure and plot the output characteristic of a common emitter transistor circuit, and use it to determine the gain, and output conductance. Model numbers of equipment used Hewlett-Packard HPE3631A Power Supply Hewlett-Packard HP34401A Multimeter Fluke 8010A Digital Multimeter Jameco JE24 Breadboard Circuit schematic / Block Diagram Test Procedure The circuit shown above was built, and the power supply’s 6V input hooked to V BB and the 25V input hooked to V CC . The HP multimeter was connected across V CC , and the two Fluke multimeters were placed at the I B and I C points of the circuit. V CC was set to .5V and V BB was adjusted until I B read as 20mA. The voltage and current of the collector were then recorded for the voltages shown below, with V BB being adjusted whenever I B started to skew off of 20mA. The same measurements were taken with I B equal to 50mA, 80mA, and 100mA.
