Homework Set 5 Solutions, ECE 25, Fall 2013 The following questions are taken from chapter 5 problems in Mano and Kime, 4th Edition. Some answers are from the website http://writphotec.com//mano4//problem solutions.html and the remainder are taken from a pdf provided to instructors by Pearson. 1. Assume that you are given the S R latch shown in the figure. You are also given the time history of the inputs, as well as the initial state of the latch (the set state). Complete the time history by sketching the Q and Q responses to the inputs. For simplicity, assume there is no time lag in the output response. Keep in mind that changes in state for this kind of latch occur in response to 0 rather than 1. Solution: S R Q Q S R 0 1 0 1 0 1 0 1 Q Q time undefined undefined 1

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
