International Week Parade A powerful and colorful illustration of the more than 130 nationalities represented on our campus, the parade marks the beginning of International Week and its opening ceremonies in April. Student Organization Benches on the Quad The student organization benches are located on the Quad outside SUB I. Every spring, recognized student organizations may apply to paint a bench. The benches provide an excellent opportunity for student organizations to recruit new members and promote campus activity at Mason. Over the years, the process has become extremely competitive, attracting approximately 60 applicants for the 27 available benches. The selected groups paint their benches in April after the Distinguished Quill Awards. President’s Office The president of George Mason University is Alan G. Merten.
