Unformatted text preview: mportant as to other private corporations. As mentioned before the First Amendment
rights can affects people’s emotions just like when the Ambassador of the United Nations was
called incompetent and felt like that was a racist remark. The article “The Privilege to Speak”
shows examples of how the First Amendment rights affect not just media corporations, but also
the individual people in the United States. However, the First Amendment rights do allow
political speech to be protected as mentioned in the article and that is something positive about
the First Amendment rights of the Constitution. The issue of the First Amendment rights not
protecting media corporations like New York Times or the Wall Street Journal might lead to the
Federal government giving them the protection they need to prevent them from going to trial for
using libel means in their articles or advertisements. The First Amendment should give any type
of corporation the right to publish anything involving political speech and shouldn’t restrict only
certain coporations. Works Cited
