purpose. 4.5.5 Operational control The organization shall identify and plan those operations and maintenance activities which are related to its
significant energy uses and that are consistent with its energy policy, objectives, targets and action plans, in
order to ensure that they are carried out under specified conditions, by means of the following:
a) establishing and setting criteria for the effective operation and maintenance of significant energy uses,
where their absence could lead to a significant deviation from effective energy performance; b) operating and maintaining facilities, processes, systems and equipment, in accordance with operational
