Spears. in his influential book "Chasing the Rabbit" has an entire chapter devoted to Alcoa, the world's largest manufacturer in the highly energy intensive aluminum industry, but does not detail their efforts to reduce energy waste.[19, 3). Seminal literature in six sigma shows a similar lack of attention to energy.
