The following structure was found to be particularly effective: * Define: A collaborative conversation between Operations and Facilities personnel, this stage helps set the tone for the rest of the project. " Measure: Led by Facilities, in consultation with Operations. Facilities has the expertise with measurement equipment and knows the safety procedures for dealing with high voltage equipment. " Analyze: A collaborative effort between Facilities and Operations. This stage also represents a critical transfer of knowledge between Facilities and Operations personnel as operators get educated about electricity usage in the environment.
