In a test of driving distance using a
mechanical driving device, a sample of
Par golf balls was compared with a
sample of Ace golf balls. In a sample of
120 balls, the Par balls averaged 275
yards and in a sample of 80 balls, the
Ace balls averaged 258 yards. Based
on data from previous driving distance
tests, the two population standard
deviations are known with σPar = 15

Golf Example Hypothesis Tests The local stadium is conducting a study to determine if their new
promotional campaign is changing food and beverage purchases.
Whereas the 20-29 year old age group was purchasing more items from
the concession than the 30-39 age group, the campaign was intended to
level out the number of purchases. The data in Concession.xlsx shows the
number of items purchased in samples of 50 from the two groups.
