Brian Federico Federico 1 Professor Olivier FS 111-003 October 15th, 2006 Journal Write #6 This week’s journal entry deals with diversity and stereotypes. Everyone at one time or another has held a particular view or opinion on another person before they have even gotten to know him or her because of a certain stereotype. A certain time in my life when I felt stereotyped was in high school when a few people associated me with gambling and the mafia because I am Italian. It was not that big of a deal but it was an eye-opener because, so I correctly told them that not all mobsters are necessarily Italian. There are many different stereotypes based on race, ethnicity, gender, nationality, religious beliefs, and social class. Examples of these include that Jewish people are cheap, Asians are good and math and sciences, women are bad at driving, and Muslims are terrorists. Here at Bentley, my classmates and I have several similarities and differences. We are similar in that we are freshman attending a prestigious
